Wall of Respect

I’ve seen the photos, but needed to go by and see it in person. I was amazed at the beautiful mural, dubbed The Wall of Respect that is on Lewis Street and wraps onto East Street.

It’s a part of a Lend A Hand Bahamas project initiated in 2014 by community resident and Junkanoo artist, the late Deon “Slime” MHardy.

I understand that children within the community have participated in the mural’s painting, along with the University of The Bahamas art students and professional fine artists.

This is the first of several murals epected to rejuventated the scenery of the historic over the hill area. Congrats to all those involved! It’s an excellent initiative!
